Primary Authority Partnerships
Milton Keynes Council is an award-winning and successful primary authority with 78 partnerships and a wealth of experience, having been at the forefront of the Government’s primary authority scheme since 2010. Our dedicated and highly qualified primary authority teams work within the trading standards and environmental health service areas and as Milton Keynes is a unitary authority, we are a one-stop-shop for advice and guidance on all areas of regulation. Having a single point of contact responsible for regulatory matters is a time saving, cost saving and consistency ensuring measure of great benefit to business. Experience shows that businesses place great value on their contact officer having a detailed understanding of their operations and a business will often invest resource in developing its relationship, which pays dividends for both the business and enforcing authorities. Consequently, we appreciate that continuity is less frustrating and a partnership is more successful by building relationships, a basis of trust and earned recognition. Our structure ensures that the business receives expertise on specialist areas from the most competent primary authority officers, whilst ensuring consistent points of contact. Milton Keynes is known for a dynamic approach and we are well connected and able to draw in opinions and advice from other bodies and national regulators to negotiate proportionate solutions to arising issues. In doing so, our Primary Authority Partnerships have saved businesses money from negating legal action, resolving complaints, providing an alternative method of compliance and assuring existing safe systems of work whilst achieving positive outcomes for all.
